Sandra Rides

Le P'tit Train du Nord
July 1st to July 4th 2007

About the Ride

There are a number of packages which provides transport and accomodation services for this trail. We choose a package which provided the following:
  • Transport for our cycles and ourselves from St Jerome to Mont Laurier
  • Over night accomodation at three Auberge
  • Transport for our luggage between the Auberge
  • The Auberge we stayed at were:
    • Auberge Beau Rivage at Lac Nominigue
    • Auberge Le Voyageur
    • Auberge de la gare de Ste Adele
We booked through Auberge Beau Rivage who took care of all the other bookings. This was excellently handled.

See the Images for a commentary on the ride and on the Auberge.

Thank you all! Merci Bien a tot!

The Cycles

Sandra had a full left hip replacement in March 2007 because of an accident and a full right hip replacement a few years ago because of arthritis caused by an accident.

We choose a tadpole trike, the Catrike Road for Sandra because it is comfortable, well built and most importantly impossible to fall off and cause more hip damage. This cat is stable and very capable, geared well for hills and can easily achieve 20mph on the flats. After two bike path rides of 20 miles Sandra was ready for this ride.

I used my old Trek 1000 road with pannier to carry additional water, tools and energy bars.

Thanks to:

  • New England Baptist and Dr's Bierbaum and West for Sandra's highly successful hip replacements
  • Catrike for their successful Tadpole Trike models
  • Auberge Beau Rivage for the booking and accomodation, merci bien Bernadette et Philippe
  • Auberge Le Voyageur - our second stop and a outstanding breakfast, merci bien Linda et Jean-Claude
  • Transport de cyclistes for excellent transportation, help and hints!
